Distance Learning Call on the Crisis in Our Courts
Every day, federal judges make decisions on important issues, such as reproductive rights, religious freedom, and other issues, which impact every aspect of our lives.
Today there is a crisis in our courts because of a growing number of judicial vacancies. Unreasonable tactics to obstruct and delay confirmations of the judicial nominations made by President Obama are keeping the Senate from filling those vacancies. This crisis impairs the ability of federal courts to make decisions on important matters that impact every aspect of our lives. This is a critical time for NCJW leaders, members, and supporters to continue to speak out through BenchMark: NCJW’s Judicial Nominations Campaign.
On June 29, NCJW hosted a Distance Learning Call with NCJW President Linda Slucker to learn about the crisis in our courts from our featured guest Marge Baker of People For the American Way. In addition, Sammie Moshenberg provided tools to most effectively educate others about the importance of the federal courts and ending the judicial vacancy crisis.
